Some Photos w/ Canon XSI & 100mm Macro

Uncropped photos. I tried to white balance enough that at the very least my rock/sand don't look blue.

Yes, interesting clam shots erichatesmice. I like the acans too. The clam has some interesting protruberances from its mantle that add to the goodness of the shot. Notice how much more intriguing the "piece of the subject" shots are than "whole subject shots".

I have the same lens and suggest stopping down further to get greater depth of field on your subjects. Personally, I'd also drop down in ISO and use slower shutterspeeds.

Agreed. Your pictures look just a little "noisy" and having a lower ISO and shutter speed would help with that. Of course, if you arent turning off the flow in your tank then a lower shutter speed much not be possible.

Than you for the critique. I have been bugged by the rather shallow depth of fied, I will definitely try that workaround.

As for lower iso/slower speed, Recty is right that the reason is that I don't turn off my pumps. I don't really like turning off the pumps, but I realize that is what I have to do to keep the subjects "slow" enough to take less noisy images.

In addition to slowing motion and enabling lower ISO and higher fstops, turning off pumps generally results in greater polyp extension which makes for better pics. It's a hassle but worth it.

Besides, it's a good system test for power failure!
