Some update of my tank after another disaster

It has been a month now since I re-aquascaped my tank. Due to removing the rocks and aquascaping, somehow the tank went into a cycle causing the ammonia & nitrate level to rise. I lost about 20 sps frags & colonies in that incident and whatever that survived, was all browned out. As of now, the tank has stabilized with the ammonia & nitrate levels back within normal. The corals have colored up recovered well. It was a painful lesson that I learned, when the tank is going well, don't disrupt it.

Here is a full tank shot that I took this evening:

And some fish pictures as well...

Peter- I am glad that things have made the turn for you. Tank looks nice with all the new branch rock.

BTW- I am glad you are in for reefapalooza. :D

Rachel - Thanks. I hope your tank recovered well too.

KMP/Minh - The tank is a 58g.

Mark - I'm looking forward to that trip.

Eclectic Taste - Not sure what are those. Just checked the fish, those spots are gone.

Peter your tank looks awesome. I don't see any brown corals :)

I'm glad to see the Banggai is doing so well. He looks great!

Kim - Thanks. Unfortunate I lost one of them. Is this a male banggai due to the long spine?

Tim - Yes, those are the nanostreams. 2 x 6045 at the back corners and 1 x 6025 on the right side.

Sure, Mark. Will post some when I get home this evening.

cool.

How old is your Banggai?

From looking at the photo my first guess would be a female if going by the length of the dorsal fin. My male's dorsal fin goes beyond the tail. However, fin length is not the last word in determining sex. The best way to know is their reaction to another Banggai. Holding eggs is a dead give away.

I pickup the Banggai from Kim back in Aug last year when they're babies. So, I guess at least more than 10 months old now.
