Someone Please Help Me Save My Montis!

ostrow

It's Dr. Goodluck Himself
The reproduction rate of montipora nudibranchs is about what I anticipated. 3 mos after the death of my radiant wrasse, and I return from 2 weeks of vacation to see many montis dead and others on the verge of all gone.

I need a radiant wrasse! If you have one or have seen one in the last day or two, please let me know.

Thanks,
Joel

Just looked and called. Email me is listed.

Called. Said showing not in stock.

Where are you looking???

Thanks. I emailed them and will call in the morning. What is your experience with that shop? Fish healthy?

Tony's out. Thanks. Sharky's. Darn, now that is a hike. I'll have to call and then see if I can figure out how to get there.

Call is in to gofish.

got both from go fish. looked really good. with the 6-line in the frag tank i assumed all would go smoothly.

flame hawk immediately took after one. now trying to catch it with the trap, but i don't think the hawk will go in the trap as readily as the 6-line did. crud.

No offense but the wrasses are hit or miss. I think you need to remove them and place in QT. I use Levimisole Hydrocloride (sp) but I do believe that Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure will also kill them. I don't think that I would take a chance with the wrasse. I would still incorporate one but not to get rid of them. Just my 2 cents.

Well, I tried all that and fresh water dips the first time I had the infestation and none of the treatments had any effect. Then, when I added a radiant, it wiped them out AND all my corals recovered, even those that had only a tiny bit of life left on them. Other wrasses are hit or miss, mostly miss, I agree. But radiants are not only IME reliably effective, they are widely reported to be reliable predators fo these.

I just really dont think that a radiant is going to keep up with the rate they are hatching. Good Luck, I hope it works out.
