I can remember the day this was posted, read it slowly everyone. Please, when handling or fragging, wear eye protection and gloves to protect any cuts on your hands, arms and cuticles. Protect your mucus membrane and stay safe, for it's better to be safe than sorry, whether you believe this thread or not.

I remember reading that thread.
At the time, I found it sad, but figured there was something else involved that killed the dog.
Not that much was discussed about zoanthids back then.
I have to admitt, I was skeptic at first.

Yep, I remember that. We have a member of our local reef club that had to be hospitalized for a week or so due to breathing in the steam vapor of a rock he was boiling to kill off a large colony of zoanthids. Very dangerous stuff!

Yes, great reminder and a very good point SM. I have heard of that on one or two occasions myself. If anyone wants to Google "Boiling water on Zoanthids", you will be surprised at the many accounts of reefers getting sick doing this. Someone shared their story right here on RC. Click on the link below and read it for yourself and never pour hot water on your zoanthids. :hammer:. You should frag them off or cut and remove them. Thanks again for sharing this Sugar Mag.
