Something has to give

I've had this RBTA for 1.5 weeks. Three days ago I pulled it out of the overflow. Yesterday I pulled it out of my Gyre. This morning I pulled it out of my koralia powerhead. Luckily I've installed 7 mesh fit guard on all of the above so the anemone didn't get evicerated but it's still getting stuck and getting daily haircuts. There has to be something I can do to ideally keep it place but at least keep it from searching out every place I don't want it to be. Ideas?

Maybe try putting it on rock and putting a basket like one of those green strawberry containers over it until he stays put. You might get lucky.

Lighting is reefbreeder photon 32 maxing out at 50 blue and 25 white. sg 1.026, temp 79-81. 0 for ammonia, trites, and trates. Ca is 390-400 and Mg is around 1250. Alk was 9 last I checked. Phosphate was around 0.05.

Usually anemones attached easily when healthy, your anemone is probably sick. You may need to do an antibiotic treatment.

I just replaced an old powerhead with a gyre last night so we will see how he does with the new flow and I'll keep adjusting if it seems to be too much.

Well he seems to attach fine and walks himself around the rocks. It's just at night he detaches to float around. Usually stays pretty well put when the lights are on.

It was in there for over a week and this only became a problem the last few days. I can't indefinitely keep the power heads off without risking killing the fish. As I mentioned it would be attached during the day so I was ignorantly thinking it wouldn't float off at night again. And I was only running 1 powerhead as well to minimize the odds he would get sucked up.

Foam covers are a pain they get dirty and slow down flow rate but by god have they saved my anemones more times than I can count. You never know when a nem will go rogue on you. New ones are the worst especially when you are trying to get them used to your flow while not pulverizing them at the same time.

Yeah I had that 7 mesh wrapped around my power heads and gyre. It worked in that it stopped the guy from being badly injured 3 times. The last time he managed to get in the front of the powerhead somehow. I don't know. I'll take a break from nems and try to reevaluate what I need to do to make my tank nem compatible.

was he settled for a day or two ever??

once mine settled, the next day i fed him.. hasnt moved since.. (knock on wood)

The first 2-3 days he was constantly walking around day and night. After that he would pick a spot to stay in all day. Those days he would float around at night, never in the same spot I last saw him before going to bed. If he was free I would place him in a pocket between two rocks, out of the flow hoping he would stay but he wasn't having it. I tried to feed him during the day but he didnt take any food. It's just disappointing, I feel like I did all I could to make it happy, spent a long time making the powerhead covers and it just didn't work out.

I got lucky, it's been 5 days now and mine has stayed put.. but I looked for an hour to try and figure out a spot where it would be happy
