Something Interesting About A Toadstool Frag

So I have a toadstool frag (fell off my large toadstool) and I rubberband it to a rock and it is now attached. Polyps extend along with growth and connected to the frag rock.

Question is:

Why is it white?

the reason probably can be its a frag... it will coloring when its getting bigger

I had a frag fall off and it stayed the same color. Here is a picture of it + month old now.
