Something killed my fish and no idea what it is!

Well I got some clownfish from my LFS.

4 days later the black snowflake dies, the LFS replaces it, 48 hours later dies, LFS replaces and 4 days later dies.

It only seemed to affect the black snowflake species, the 4 others clownfish seem to be fine (different species).

The symptoms were:

1) Erratic swimming
2) Loss of appetite
3) Rapid breathing

The are all located in a QT tank with cupramine and prazipro.

I was suspecting brooklynella but the other fish are showing no symptoms so far. But that seems the only option, taking into account the QT is under treatment and cupramine doesn't work on it.

Wich is the life cycle of brooklynella? Or is it like ich? as long there is a fish it will always be on the system

I saw no sign of aggression, they all sleep together in a ball.

You will be surprised what happens during lights out period. I would maybe think about during couple of Formalin baths.

The formalin bath are not helpful if you return the fish to the infected tank. That's why I want to be sure it's something like brooklynella but no one seems to answer my original questions.

Of course it's not! That's why you take them out and do the bath and put them in a QT and let your DT go fallow, knowing that you have something.

If you read my original post you will notice that they are not in the DT. They are the QT tank, and whatever killed the fish is in there too. So I have to treat the QT I need to know for sure its that disease, since they are already being treated with prazipro and cupramine.

This may be better suited for the disease forum, but couldn't you do a formalin bath and set up a temporary new QT while sterilizing the current one?

FWIW copper will suppress appetite and prazi can lower oxygen levels causing rapid breathing.

Thanks ! the remaining fish are hungry and with lots of appetite and also breathing normally. The tank is well oxygenated.

Have you tested ammonia, ph, and kh. The first four fish in the tank may be acclimated to the off numbers therefore they are not dying. The new fish has not had a chance to acclimate therefore the water parameters being off are killing it. It only takes a small amount, especially when it's ammonia.

ammonia its around 0.25, cant get it down, despite the water changes (50%) everytime. But the fished are not having any distress signals as far as I can tell.
