Something moving by purple tang's eye

I recently added a purple tang to my system. It eats well, but I've noticed periodic internal movement by both eyes. I can't get a good video of it, but the tang seems okay. Does anybody know what this could be?

Before treating with prazi, do a FW dip. If it is flukes, some of them should fall off and into the FW container. This is not a treatment, you will still need to use prazi, but it will confirm for you whether prazi is the correct treatment.

Further: prazi is not entirely reef safe, it can kill feather dusters and ornamental worms, plus a lot of beneficial hitchhikers on your live rock. Treating in a hospital tank would be your best bet.

I do have access to a 40b that I can use as a QT but i’m concerned if flukes already laid eggs in the tank. Or is that not how they reproduce? Thanks for the additional responses.

I ended up dosing the display tank last night. When I checked the tank this morning everything looks okay so far, but the movement behind the tang’s gills has stopped! I will wait 5 days, do a water change and dose it one more time.

Thanks again for everyone’s help!

I did the water change and dosed the 2nd round 6 days after the initial treatment to kill anything that hatched from the eggs. Oddly their was no visible sign of flukes until after the water change and dosing again - weird! During the first treatment the flukes died within 24 hours, this second time the gill flukes are still there 24 hours later.

Hopefully the flukes go away after the second round. If not should I do another round or a try a different treatment?

I have used in the past with no ill effects double the recommended dose to kill stubborn flukes.

You should do a freshwater dip flukes will fall off the fish.

There are prazi resistant flukes, which you can use formalin, hyposalinity or fenbendazole to eradicate. IMO; hypo for 1 week is the easiest/safest option.
