something to clean my sand

How about siphoning your sand....I know it's cheating! Kidding aside, I have two nassarius snails and they do well cleaning my substrate. Not sure if everyone agrees but I have a couple blue legged hermits and all they seem to clean my substrate fairly well.

Sometime moving the sand around yourself helps. Though I wonder if in time it will all become "dirty sand".

In just a day my pistol shrimp/YWG has done wonders for my sand bed. It's very white now and all of the larger ugly pieces of LR, shells etc have been removed by the shrimp. Very happy with it.... it looks neat to have tunnels under the rock too. Also the piles of sand seem to add another dimension to the tank bottom.

Unfortunately a mushroom and a couple of zoa polyps came loose when I added the pair and a yellow fiji leather.... they stole these and have taken them under the rock.. bah.

Look into Conches - some of them clean the sand I believe.
