hopefully the issues were resolved with the gen 2's, but my new gen 2 upgrade from december had a drive shaft go bad already. hopefully thats just an isolated incident as i would love to have these pumps run trouble free from now on.

youve got that right volcom. i added an acrylic 1" rim around the tank to contain the waves. i wish i had compensated for the vortechs before i installed the overflow as i would have mounted it an inch lower. i have settled on having both my vortechs on one side of the tank, reef crest mode, in synch at about 85% volume.

what are the dimensions of your tank volcom? mine is 3'x2'x20"depth. i figure you can't have too much flow for sps...unless they are right in front of the vortechs, in which case they get shredded alive...lol. i had to add some larger sized crushed shells in some areas of my sandbed to keep the sand from being blown all over and that has worked well. i am assuming by the amount of PE my corals exhibit that they like all the flow. i dont like that i had to add the acrylic lip around the tank, but without it water would flow over the edge of the tank.

LOL Yea my sand blows in certain spots, but i find the more speed i put on my vortechs the less PE i get for some reason i slow it down alittle the more PE i get so i just left it alittle less then normal which so far seems good for growth. Most of mine are frags and small colonies so i figure when they grow i can up the speed.

Do you think the Deltec is a good option for your tank ? Because this is a huge skimmer for your tank. I´m asking because I just bought a Deltec 701 for a 50G SPS nano tank...hope the skimmer works well in a small tank
About the pictures, I think some pictures don´t show the real color and the reality , there is a lot of photoshop in some pics , isn´t ?

Those who have seen my tank in person will tell you that the colors are as real to life as possible.

I'm a big fan of sunny tanks, but I also notice that in some pics fishes are over colored, maybe due to his camera. Amazing colors for sure!

I currently dose:
1.8ml day of Vodka(40 proof)
3 drops of Microbacter7
1 vial Prodibio Reef Booster every two weeks.
4 drops Lugol's Solution a week
