Nice! I guess ill have to see if I can find it locally. I guess its worth a shot. Im sure the acan's and Lobo's wont mind the extra food in the system.

the colors on your tank are sick! great job and a a great tank!

Thank you very much. Your support is appreciated. :D

You are making me sooooo jealous:( ! 5-6 months to wait for a new tank and I can't take it any more! Seriously, Sunny your tank looks great and it is definately motivating me to save. Any reason why you didn't go deeper than 24 inches? I'm thinking a 60x36x20 Miracles tank whenever I get myself together. Thanks for keeping me focused everyday:strooper:

Thanks. :D

I decided to go shallower to change things up a bit. I think a shallow tank looks better, and is easier to arrange and work.

The tank you have in mind is a great size. My prior Miracles tank was 60x36x24.

Good luck and keep your eyes on the prize.:twitch:

Well I have some good news.....my corals are coloring up again! :D

During the tank transfer many of my corals brown out while sitting in holding tanks. I took a look at the corals today and am happy to report that my corals are starting get their great colors back.

My purple monster had darkened up quite a bit, but today I noted a purple shimmer that wasn't there yesterday.

Soon enough the corals will be tip top again and growing. :D

I am taking the Ati Pro color bulb out today....

I added an Ati Pro color bulb to my T5 fixture last week. Within 3 days I was starting to see a huge difference in algae growth. My glass, which I normally clean once a week, is now getting covered withing 2 days! Not to mention the sand is getting covered now with brown diatoms.

My tanks have not seen algae in years and now suddenly with this bulb I have an explosion of it.

I am thinking here that the red spectrum of the bulb is exciting the algae and making it go out of control.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

sounds like normal diatom from the new system try some pohls coral snow and zeobac it worked 4 me cleared my tank of diatom in a week and a half

Possible over dosing of prodibio?? What kind of algae?

I only dosed Prodibio bacteria once, right when I setup the tank. I have not added anything else and feed the fish very lightly. Not to mention my skimmer is overkill for the system and keeps everything nice and clean.

The algae is the standard "glass algae" and the stuff covering the sand is brown diatoms.

All tests check out for Po4 and No3.

Yea but here is the thing, the system is technically 13 years old. :D

All rock and water was transferred over from the old tank. The rock sat in an unlit vat with 5 power heads and a heater for one month. I did water changes weekly and bacteria additions every two weeks to make sure the rock was ready.

Maybe I should start the VSV sooner than I thought and remove the Pro color.

I think it is the bacteria starting to grow on the "new" surfaces. The glass and the sand is technically new although the other stuff was 13 years old. Just a thought....

I think it'll go away by itself, and I don't think the bulb has anything to do with it, although I've never un T5's..

agree with rutZ

Sorry for short posts hard to type and drive 86mph at same time :)

lol.

Ok, ill wait it out and see what happens.

I still might take out the Pro color just in case.

It happened to me when I just added some crushed coral to my tank. I had no algae anywhere else in the tank(zeovit, therefore active bacteria). But, since you had bacteria on the rock you used and in the water, it is now colonizing on the new areas. I am no scientist so my explaination might be a little off, but, it is my observations with using a bacteria system.

Sorry to be annoying SunnyX, but I was wondering if you could post more pics. Some of the equipment room would be nice. Also, sorry if I missed it, but what is your stand made of?

I get what your saying. I was just afraid it was going to snowball out of control but I have the right measures in place to stop that.

Well I cleaned my glass today and within 3 hours I had a nice film algae on the glass.

What the freak man!!

I have never seen it grow THAT fast.
