Sunny, are you still dosing VSV? Reason I ask is that they say it is unnecessary to run GFO with VSV (or similar products). I'm beginning to think about adding some to knock back some HA that I'm having.

I have not began the VSV yet. I do add bacteria every two weeks but I may not go the VSV route. With my over sized skimmer, ROWAphos, and bacteria I should be good for now. Eventually I may remove the ROWA and start with VSV.

Only time will tell. :frog:

Such a beautiful tank but so few pics..

How are you planning on hiding the Tunzes? And how have you hidden the three you mentioned?

Hey guys, been a little hectic lately and haven't been able to update the thread.

I am happy to report the the T5's have exceed my expectations. The growth and coloration within a month have been great.

I have a coral that had been brown for over 5 years. The coral had great growth but remained an ugly brown. Not matter what I tried, the coral would not color up. The coral was under 10K, 20K, 14K, 250W, 400W and yet no color. I am happy to report that in less than one month the coral has colored up quite nicely. :D

All of my corals have in fact colored up much more than they were in my prior tank. And judging by the growth I have seen the T5's are growing my SPS much faster than my prior MH setup.

I'm sold on the T5's now, never going back to MH's.

Glad to hear  All that, and an electric bill that is easy on the eyes...

Yeah, the extra electrical savings are always welcome. I was in Chicago over labor day weekend and remembered that you lived there. I would have loved to have seen your setup.

Give me a call next time you are around - I'm right in the heart of downtown, so most people who visit the city are right by me anyway. I'll have a frag or two waiting ;) (albeit non-acro given my current battle...)

I've always wanted to try T5's..next upgrade (48x36) i think i will go with a nice 12x54w T5 light :D.

The 12x54w is nice - what I have on my 60x36, and its plenty. You might think about a 12x39w. I was thinking of doing the 12x80w to cover the whole tank, but am glad I didn't, because the 12x54w actually gives me someplace to put my LPS.

Thanks. We usually stay at the Hilton on Michigan ave. Hopefully that's not to far from you. After checking Chicago out again I am seriously considering moving there. The city is full of so much culture, activity, and of course "Chicago style pizza". Michigan is such a dead state right now.

Well here are some more pics i just took, please excuse the tunzes, white PVC and unfinished stand as i will be taking care of them very soon. The stand still needs trim on the top and bottom, the tunzes will all be hidden from sight, and the black PVC is on the way:

Its about a 5 minute cab from my house. I can't say enough good things about Chicago - if you decide to make the move I'd be glad to help in any way I can. The state of Illinois, outside of Chicago, leaves a few things to be desired, but fortunately Chicago dominates the state :)

Sonny, did you end up taking out the procolor bulb? If so, how do you like the colors of the corals compared to when the procolor was in? Do the pink colors still show up without the procolor? Thanks
