sunny how do you like that light? did you get it from aquacave and if so did the price include bulbs? the site does/doesn't say it includes the bulb. i'm looking to upgrade my lighting. thanks

I considered the ATi but the waiting list was much too long. I didn't know much about the Aquactinic Constellation but after seeing it run in person I decided to order it.
 
Regarding the Procolor and the algae, you might have something there. I took out my procolor last week, and I've noticed a decrease in the amount of film algae on my glass. I can't be 100% sure that this was the ultimate cause, since I cleaned my skimmer, changed RO/DI filters, but it is quite a coincidence.

Well Im going to take it out for a week and see what happens. I may have some Po4 coming in from somewhere, maybe the carbon I am using.
 
A little off topic but person I know rented out his home for three weeks to Clint Eastwood who is filming a new movie here in Michigan and I may get a chance to go out there and meet him this weekend. :D

I really don't care much about celebrities but it is "the man with no name" himself. :D

The good, the bad and the ugly! LOL

My roomate and I went over and watched them do some filming the other day.....he's lookin' old for sure! They had a large group of roads closed down here in Ann Arbor that they were filming at. It was pretty cool actually. I have to agree that my knees dont shake when I see/meet celebs, but Clint is the man!

LMK if you head this way...we could meet up. At some point I'm definently headed your way to check out this killer system, thanks again for the invite! Your welcome to come to my place, but right now I still have my 80 gal TSV frag system set-up :o, as Im in the midst of a 400 TSV build.

We can always drink award winning home brews though! :)


In regards to your little algae spurt, it makes since to me that the Pro Color (red bulb) would promote more algae growth as I would expect it to have an alage friendly spectrum. As you know Im not all that familiar with T5s though...but thats my 2 cents :)
 
I'm sorry to be annoying, but like wiso reef said, could you post more pics? Also (sorry if this has already been asked/ stated), how do you maintain your ?SSB? I really like your aquasaping & I am modeling mine after yours, so could you post some more close-up pics of the aquascaping? Maybe from different angles :o ?

Sorry for the late update. I took the pro color bulb out and added some Rowaphos to the tank.

In less than a week the tank is crystal clear again. :D
 
What kind of carbon do you run sonny?

I just bought another phosban reactor to start running carbon. I am battling what I believe to be high phosphate (although gadgets doesn't seem to think so. I am going to try to get some pics and/or video of the tank tomorrow chris.) and don't want to add any more phosphate to the water than I have to through feeding.

I have the carbon in a mesh bag in the sump and replace monthly. I am running the ROWAphos in a phosban reactor.

Sunny, are you still dosing VSV? Reason I ask is that they say it is unnecessary to run GFO with VSV (or similar products). I'm beginning to think about adding some to knock back some HA that I'm having.
