Here sits my empty 16g Nuvo...

I've got about 10lbs of dead rock I'm using from my old tank that's been dry for 5 years - it's all TBS rock (I love the stuff). I'm going to order 16lbs of live sand and about 20lbs of rock... I can't wait to post pictures of what Richard picks for me. You guys and your pictures have me so jealous!

The best part is that I'm local: no shipping time for me :)

Richard: I see that you added a locals area to your website ordering... I just do it via e-mail, or do you want me to do an online order form?

Alright... working out my weekend schedule. What days do you usually meet people to sell them rocks in parking lots? :)

Okay, NO clue why Napalm's photo host decided to turn the pics all upside down and sideways - facebook didn't, iPhoto didn't, finder didn't... so, imagine the pictures aligned properly.

Tank this evening before I began aquascaping it... was concerned that there'd be too little room for fish and such... was thinking about possibly exchanging some with Richard (owner of Tampa Bay Saltwater).

Once again, I apologize for the pictures... the host did it. If I weren't 3G tethering due to a cable modem outage, I'd be more concerned with fixing and re-upping them... thanks for understanding.

I would if I were on a full-fledged connection. Not wanting to experiment w/ new stuff while tethered. I promise any further pics will be hosted either right-side-up on Napalm.net or will be hosted elsewhere :)

Do you like the rock?

Looking good, but you need to make some water changes, that is pretty high ammonia, don't let it get over 1ppm.....will stress the rock.......!

sea ya

Glad to meet you today. Thanks for holding onto my rock while we get this cycle under control. I'll sea you next week. Too much rock for about 12 gallons total water volume to handle off the bat.

Here's the tank as it sits today:

The ammonia is way down, cycle is moving along nicely...

This second batch of rock (he got me better nano pieces than the chunks I returned) is RI-DIC-U-LOUS! It's got sponges, dusters, pistols, tons of snails (cerith and nerite), urchins, and get this: two SPS colonies! I know nothing about SPS corals, so I got them some food and moved them up near the light in high flow and we'll see how they go. If they live, awesome... if not, ah well :)

YOU WOULD BE CRAZY TO BUY OTHER THAN TBS ROCK!!!

Some updates on my favorite TBS hitchhikers :)

sbjnano06121201.jpg

Look closely. This is the only evidence that I have TWO pistol shrimp. See all four claws?
sbjnano06121202.jpg

The pistols are very shy. This one worked up the nerve to descend from his rock cave and grab little shrimp pellets. Cute picture, if a pistol shrimp can be called cute.

Closer... You can see the blue legs and striped body.

He eventually got some food.

These were both hitchhikers on my TBS live rock. I believe there is a third one on the left side of the tank, as there's another burrow over there. I wasn't aware that two would share one spot as these two do on the right side of the tank, I wonder if they are a mated pair.
