Soulpatch's 150 SC build

One small update from the weekend. I got the calcium reactor assembled but still need CO2 and a check valve to get going. I might need an adaptor to run it off of my manifold as well but I need to look.

Also I have been keeping my alk at proper levels dosing daily to keep stable around 9. I have had some good growth recently and my acans are coloring up pretty nicely. My rainbow RBTA who decided to leave the rocks and live on my back wall has split so I now have a baby to sell to my LFS in return for acan credit...lol
 
Got the lsm and such for the tank today so will be adding that to my install list this week...

I have over 10 gallons of evaporation on my 210 African Cichlid tank. I marked a low water line. I perform weekly water changes, normally on Tuesday, but if the water is below the line, I do it early. Winter months are the worst. Thermostat is set for 68 to 72. Tank is set for 80. Beats having to buy a humidifier. LOL.

Well I got tangled in family things and wanting to entertain myself over break as opposed to getting my CO2 tank filled or the calcium reactor set up. My priorities were skewed. HA HA.

Continuing to dose alk manually to compensate for the loss in my mixing barrels for the AWC. Need to do some cleanup in the tank as Have some chateo bits in the tank that I need to clean up, clean the glass, and such.

I did however at least mount my LSM leds to the canopy so I will have to power them up tonight to test that part out after I get back from the gym. (yes new year new me HA. Seriously though need to continue working on my shoulder getting back to normal so it goes hand in hand)

Outside of that the tank will remain on autopilot for a bit. I need to do some peroxide paste in the tank though as I have some bubble algae that needs gone. Probably refill my reactor and power it back up as well as I have not been running either for a couple months now as my refugium was handling things. I trimed back my chateo and I think that allowed items to get a foothold in the tank.

those bubble tip anemones

what is their name it is some sort of subspecies to bubble tip
 
Mine dont mind either and they have already split once. The one is hetting ready to split again as well

NP. I like to keep pics of those. The one on the left was one of my first corals back in the nano. I had a bout of black bugs that decimated it and knocked it back to perhaps 2-3 mouths. It was receeding badly and I figured it was gone. I got rid of the bugs and slowly it came back but the color was fairly muted. Over the past year in the big tank not only has it fully recovered and grown, but the color has started to come back in as well. It is still not as vibrant as it once was with the older heads but the newer heads that are coming in are showing great promise.

The one to the right while a bit muted in the pic is actually more vibrant and the opposite of the one on the left which I love. I cant wait till the two of them grow into one another and great a dynamic rock piece.


For the other corals my SPS is doing great but I struggle to get decent pics without the DSLR. Maybe this weekend I will try to break that out or perhaps even the gopro for underwater shots.
