Source for large quantities of argonite (southdown) sand

I need an affordabe source for 2000 pounds of southdown. Home Depot does not carry it anymore. PS I am in central IL.

they dont make it anymore, they sell it under a different brand for reefs (i forget) for a ton more money. I got eight bags saved though for my new tank soon.

That sounds like a large tank... Ruff measurements for 2000lbs of sand for a DSB would put your tank around 10x5 or 8x6 and even larger if you're not looking at a DSB...

I see you have a 600gal in the works... 8x4 ?? 2000lbs would be like an 8" DSB...

contact RC member Treeman he sells locally and im pretty sure he works for someone (or maybe he owns the business) and can ship it out to you... i remember there was a reef club in texas recently putting together a group buy for at least 500 lbs...

I bought 3200 lbs from Treeman through a LFS in Pompano Beach Florida a couple months ago. He won't sell to anyone without a business license and a tax id.
