South Florida Must Represent!!!

Hi All,

This month's photo contest has become a bit of a sham. Some dude in Colorado posted a bunch of threads in local CO state club forums asking people to vote for his pic, and as a result pic no. 20 gained 35+ votes yesterday. The sad thing is that there are several photos that are wayyyyyy better than it, and it is now leading the contest.

So, everyone please go check out the contest (linked below), and vote for the pic you think is best. There are several FMAS member entries this month and we must represent!

and what he is doing is wrong? I remember a certain person having a flyer at the last frag swap advertising, and asking for all to vote for his picture.:eek1:

this being said jeffbrigg's photos are in no doubt Real nice, and trying to gain votes by asking friends and aquaintences does not make the contest a sham:D

Actually, that was my flier, and I didn't take the photo. The photo was of my fish, so I was plugging for it. That being said, only 5 more votes were obtained after the Frag Swap and the picture was already leading going into it.

This month, a photo that is clearly inferior IMO to at least 5 or 6 other photos went from having 1 vote to having 43 votes in a 24-hour period because of three separate threads posted in local forums asking people to not vote in the contest, but to vote specifically for his photo. To make matters worse, several people commented that No. 27 (again not my photo) was better, but they voted for No. 20 anyway. If thats not a sham, then I don't know what is.
