South Lake Tahoe frag run - Winter 2015

For those curious, here is my friend's general maintenance regimen.
------
Tank runs around 8.5 alk 420 calcium and 1350 mag. Give or take. I don't really test that much.

Feed mysis brine and herb blend all frozen cubes. Dose iodine few drops every week and potassium nitrate once a month, .5 teaspoon in 5 gal on top off.

Picked up my frags today from Ron. It was nice meeting you Ron!!!
Took some pics of the frags!!!

Thank you Ron for doing us a very big favor. Anytime you're in south bay hit me up.

Oh by the way, for the ones looking for the link. Go to R-e-e-f-2-r-e-e-f and search potassium nitrate.
Happy reefing!!!

Correct. As is sodium nitrate. I would not do calcium nitrate as it will impact your calcium levels over time. Maybe not much, but still a concern. As for potassium nitrate, you would probably end up dosing the same number of ions of Potassium as Calcium. And since potassium is even less in water may still be an issue in increasing your tanks potassium levels.

Sodium nitrate is good because it is just salt, so as long as you check your salinity, you should be safe.

I haven't tried any of them yet, but just some thoughts.

I am planning to try in the next few weeks though.
