Spawning Bluestripe pipefish

Castorpollux, that may work except that most of them will go into one of the powerheads or the reverse UG filter. The other problem is that there are all sorts of things swimming around in my reef when I shut the pumps off. Something is always spawning. The next time I see eggs I will put a fine strainer in my surface skimmer that feeds the skimmer. I may catch a few.
Then I'll call Trueblackpercula to pick them up to raise them. :lol:

I wish you luck Paul. I'm raising Kudas and took a shot at getting a pair of Janss pipes, but I found them in a LFS and both had vibrio, by the time I got them into a Triple Sulfa/Neomycin hospital tank, both were too far gone. I'm going to try again, but after hearing your description, I think I may go with a bigger species of pipefish

I have spawned and raised True black perculas, False perculas,pygmy Seahorses, I have spawned but was not able to raise centropyge aurantius and centropyge argi.
Next on my list when the tankis well cycled are a pair of resplendens angels

The little couple spawned again. Here is the pregnant male. You can see the "bump" on his pouch, or fold, what ever you want to call it.

Any updates ? How did you get your male and female ? Bought as a pair or did you pair them up yourself ?

No updates. I bought the two pipefish in a store and saw that they were a pair so I bought them. I have been trying to get another pair but they are not that common.

that is soooo cool! pipe fish are one of my wife's favorite fish and they have always been so incredibly hard for us to keep. great to hear you're having such success!!
