Hi All,
Iv been nerding out lately about stuff spawning in my tank so I thought I'd share.
The newest spawning pair as of tonight is my Ruby Red dragonets. They are new to this and apparently not very good at it since I don't think their coupling produced any fertilized eggs. I didn't take any serious time to do any nice editing on the videos so I apologize for a crappy video clip.
Anyways for several days now he's been trying to get her attention and she just ignores him. Today before lights out I noticed she was a little swollen and actually following him around a lot. About one minute before the moonlights kicked off he started getting frisky and they began their dance but didn't get very far with it. I went and found a small light and put it on the tank to see what they were up too and we're still trying. They coupled a few times but not enough to fertilize the eggs I don't think. In the end he kept trying to entice her but she was done. He badgered her so much that in the end she started swatting at him and bit him a few times. Then he left her alone. I looked for eggs but couldn't find any. I'm assuming they look like my mandarin goby eggs but maybe way smaller?
Anyways here is the video link.
