Special Election

I hope I am not stepping on anyones toes by starting this and I apologize if I am.

I will assume that I am not the only special one that received some emails today, if you havn't yet.....check yo e-mail!!

Since I have been so vocal about this subject recently with some "thoughts" I have had. I feel contempted to "put up or shut up" and run for this office. As a recent graduate, my employment status is not yet finalized and regrettably can not take on any other responsibilities until that time, which could be a while. However, I am very passionate about this subject and feel that it is a key office in forwarding this club. In lieu of this, I would like to offer the person who does a pledge of assistance when needed, if desired, in any way I can.

Public Relations shall contact various manufacturers and offer our assistance in testing various products related to the hobby. Public Relations shall also purchase goods from a monthly budget and solicit donations on behalf of the organization for the purpose of monthly raffles."

After all, if I am going to complain I better be willing/able to put the time in to fix it.

What e-mails? The only e-mail I received was about the bylaws changes. Most of MARS e-mails are treated as SPAM by my ISP, and then again at the Outlook level so I would not be surprised if its the bit bucket somewhere.

Per the May announcements, MARS is holding a special interim election for the positions of Public Relations Officer and Secretary in June. Please see the job descriptions below. Anyone who is interested in volunteering please attend.



We recommend that anyone who is interested in volunteering observe the board meeting that starts at 6 PM. This will give you an opportunity to see how club business is conducted.



Assuming the bylaw change to shorten the officer terms to one year passes, these positions will expire in December. MARS has no term limits and everyone is encouraged to volunteer again in December.



Per the MARS bylaws



The Secretary shall record the minutes of each meeting of the monthly general membership meeting, and the Board of Governors. The secretary shall process new and renewal membership applications and maintain a roster of all members of the organization.

I have never gotten a MARS email.

I would also be willing to help out as needed. Since I live out of the area I don't shop at the Sac stores at all. I'm willing to make phone calls and help out with ideas.

I have not been to a meeting for a few months, but am hoping to make the next one.
