Species tanks

KeepItSimple

Well I guess Ill start with a mini intro... I previously have kept many SW tanks from FO to sps dominated, but have been out of hobby since my daughter was born(just not enough time so something had to give...tanks lost). I kept a few different species of anemone such as rbta/giga/saddle carpet. I always enjoyed watching the relationship with the clowns I had.

Now my daughter is 3 and I have more free time to dedicate to my hobbies now. So I talked the wife into letting me set up a new tank. This is where I need some info, cause honestly I am a little rusty on some of the specifics.

I have been thinking it would be nice to set up a nice species tank with a nice anemone and a pair of clowns, with a mix of corals. My question is what is the recommended size of tank for the dif. species of anemone's(carpets, bta, magnifica). I tried to do some searches on it here but the search seems to be disabled each time I try and use it.

Thanks for any help...and look forward to getting to know some of you, as I plan to stick around for some time.

What do you want to keep specifically in term of anemone?
I think most will require an area of 16-24X16-24.
I have not successfully keep an Gigantea. For H. magnifica an area of 24X24 would be great. Minimal of 60 cubic . Can be shallower if you want (24X24X18) This size tank will leave not much room or other corals as the anemone grow. You are talking about a species tank which mean an anemone and clown fish tank with minimal if any other animal, then a cubic 60 g tank. I think a 120 g tank is a perfect size tank for reef if you want anemone and corals.

My RBTA and clowns are in a 40 long. I'm being given a 50? corner hex that I plan on putting them in eventually.

"Search only works if you are a payed member. "

that is not true.....just search at "off" times. late at night or mid day.... times when most working people are occupied. i'm not a paid member and i search all the time
