is there any thing i can do to make zoas and paly grow faster.
i feed the tank pretty heavy with all kind of stuff. water is good. i heard about using vit c will speed them up let me in on some tips.

well i have found that fragging speeds up growth for my zoas. Also if I noticed them growing over a couple rocks ill tear them apart. I've seen one polyp sprout 4-6 heads after doing this rather than one polyps at a time. Other than that good stable conditions is all I can say.

Zoanthids hate Phosphates so be sure to use RO/DI water. If you can get a phos reacter that woudl be even better.
Decent flow across the polyps
Feed your 'water' with things like Coral Frenzy a very fine powder food
Cut any cross tissue = If the polyps are crossing their tissue to another rock cut that string of tissue. It will cause the new colony on the new rock to take care of themselves and speed up the process on both colonies
Water changes are also a big key

i feed feed feed i do 10 gal every week and it a 100gal tank clean filter pads every two weeks o Phos all water specs are great

Might also be the type of Zoas you have.
I have a red and blue Zoas that grows like a weed I mean seriously grows like a weed. Faster then my Xenia if you can believe it!
Then I have over 10 other kinds in the same tank that grow sloooooow or mid speed :lolspin:
I noticed the larger polyp type Zoanthids grow faster then the smaller. Larger types are around the size of a dime when adults

You know/knew my collection J. I always just "set it and forget it" i let them do thier thing.. No dosing. Grade A fish waste and good tank husbandry.

Fish waste = Zoa roids....

Make a few score along the edges of its matting will force it to re-grow.
Be safe.....

Fish waste landing on zoas can increase its chance to get infected by unwanted bacteria that may cause fungus.... "Believe it or not"
