speed up growth of zoa. how?

yea that would kind make sence

I actually have a question for you... Why do you wanna get them to grow faster? you do know things grow slow in this hobby right? Its not like things happen over night.

One of the top reasons I could see a person wanting to speed up the growth of zoa's is for fragging and selling, which would seem to me you just care more about money than instead of what you actually have... just sayin.

and kinda back on topic.. some zoa's/paly's just grow slow there's nothing you can do about it.

i have alot of 1 polps right now and yea i do need the money right now i getting a place to my self and a lot to buy and i think everyone nos how that is

You cant get rich in this hobby.... but with the same token theres nothing wrong with making a little money back from your initial investment.

i never said anything about getting rich. Why are people mistaking this for what i said? I understand that there is no harm in making a "little" money back in your investment, which to me would mean that you have a healthy colony, frag off some polyps to maybe recoup some of the money you put into the coral. Not OMG what can i do to get this thing to grow faster so i can still sell these at top price while the markets hot... it just doesn't happen in this hobby. And lets look at what he said, he needs the money right now but yet he bought the utter chaos and space monster polyp...yea hard for money...

emureef your just doing a little to much what is the problem.
and im trying to save up what ever money i can for when i have my own place. plus i spent to much for x-mas presents for my family.
and the whole reason i posted this was to see if there was any thing i could do that other people were doing it called learning.
so just back off

is there any thing i can do to make zoas and paly grow faster.
i feed the tank pretty heavy with all kind of stuff. water is good. i heard about using vit c will speed them up let me in on some tips.

What are you feeding?

I found that most zoas I've had over the years have done best on cyclopeze, even to a point where I reduced the feeding my zoa colonies stopped growing and in some cases withered. When feed they grow fast and develope longer skirts to catch the food.

I keep my Ph in the 8.4 range by using Kalc and the Zoa's seem to like it

In addition to some meaty food I also believe they like detritus so I'll try to blow some on them when I dust off my live rock using a turkey baster

As an example of growth, I started with one polyp of these CAR's less then 5 months before this picture.

I agree with pretty much everybody here.

Cut it then ignore it for a few while and you'll get some good growth. I also think they grow a little better in dirtier water too. The bam-bams in my (super clean) sps tank never grew but the watermelons in my lps (water changes what is that?) tank grew like crazy.

Also much better growth under my 10k 150w MH than the 20k 250w MH.

So yellow light nasty dirty meant faster growth for me LOL

Spot feed them with some tweezers, you will definitely notice increased reproduction and size. I've noticed palys are easier to feed than zoas. Not just because of their size, but some zoas mouths don't seem to open up enough and ingest the food. Turn off the flow prior to feeding, then wait about 20 minutes before turning the flow back on.

Im new to this , aprox how long for them to grow?? they split 1=2 2=4 ... ?

this isn't how it works with zoa's

they grow a mat which the polyps grow from, polyp growth is determined by many different factors.

how many polyps you'll get in the next growth is pretty hard to predict.
