Hi All,
Had a some serious whitespot go through my system. Killed half of my fish. Saved the other half by putting them into a hospital tank.
My question came from the article I was reading here:
http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=16+2160&aid=2420
RE: Life cycle of white spot - It seems that loosely speaking you need to keep your display tank clear of fish for 40 days. But there was mention that if you turn up the temperature you can speed up the life cycle to finish in half the time. If I was to increase my temperature to 27 degrees would anyone have any experience or links to further reading about what the time difference would be for something like this?
Im just in a bit of a pickle where Ive got an 8ft tank and stand being delivered soon and it needs to go where my hospital tank is currently. I can certainly wait the 40 days if I have to but I thought if there was a more calculated process with the life cycle I could do some maths maybe only go fishless for say 30 days instead.
Thoughts? Concerns? Ideas?
