Spiny Devilfish

Das awesome

I was at the lfs yesterday and noticed that they had a baby spiny devilfish approximately 2" long. I'm the type of hobbyist that is intrigued by the oddballs especially if they are able to kill you and was wondering if anyone has had experience with this fish. I've looked online, but haven't been able to find any info about keeping them in the home aquarium. All I know is that I WANT THIS FISH!!!

They can be a bit challenging to keep at first. In my experience, they are slow to take anything other than live food, though you can get them to eat frozen off of a stick with enough persistence. The fish will be most comfortable in a tank with a fairly big footprint, and a sand bed deep enough to bury itself in. Avoid small tankmates, both fish and shrimp, for obvious reasons. Like many scorpions though, its not likely to bother animals it cant swallow whole. I've never found them to be particularly aggressive, and odds of getting stung are very small if you watch what youre doing while cleaning the tank. If you do get stung, you're not going to die (barring some kind of allergy or freak accident), but it'll sure hurt.

Are you talking about a Goblin? There is a few people who keep them in the FO/Aggressive section if you have any questions.
