Spiny Porcupine Puffer

I got a Porcupine Puffer for my FOWLR tank on Monday. He's been in quarantine, seems to be doing okay, but still isn't eating. I've tried silversides, mysis shrimp, and even some brine just trying to get him to take something. Any recommendations?

Mine loves frozen bloodworms. After he got used to eating bloodworms, I then introduced silversides. Careful not to feed him too much at a time - I thought I killed mine after giving him a whole silverside - he must have been bloated and lethargic for 36 hours!

I got mine started with Live Ghost Shrimp. He still won't eat anything too small so any cubed stuff is out. Now he eats whole worms, shrimp, krill, and slices of silversides/crab/etc...

The lfs was probably feeding him krill. You should try that. It's not the best for him, but it should get him eating.

Get him off krill ASAP or you're going to be dealing with life-threatening lock-jaw.

When I had mine all he would eat was krill.....and he developed lock jaw. I would try anything besides krill

Yes it is true, but doesn't happen over night. If you need him to start eating it is fine. Just don't make it his entire diet for years.
