spionid & spaghetti worm problem

does anyone knows how to get rid of spionid worm and spaghetti worms? any suggestion, i need help on this

i found out that i have this in my tank, and according to zoaid.com it is a irritator to the zoa, can those two type of worm harm my zoa?
what can i do to get rid of them?

I also say that zoaid said they were irritators, but I have them on a pink colony, and they don't "irritate" them at all.

Yeah....I have had no problem with them, and they have been in my tanks for years.

I got a million of them and always have, they seem to be opportunistic feeders just collecting drifting food with a sticky thread. I doubt there is any problem associated with them.

They won't harm any zoas, but will drag their feeding arms across them. And in doing this they may steal any food you have fed to your zoas or whatever.

Tell you the truth, they probably aren't something to worry about. My blenny actualy likes to go in and eat any food that these things capture in their arms.

Spionid Worm-
You could probably remove them by finding the base of their tube and breaking that off the rock/frag.

Spaghetti worms-
These are tougher cause they find a hole in your rocks to live in. If they really bother you then frag your zoas off the rock or try a dip. IMO probably not worth it.

i wanted to point out the FAQ on 'Predators and Irritaters':

although after seeing so many posts in a row of people having zoanthids NOT effected by these guys, i've changed the wording from:

A Zoanthid Irritater is something that will irritate a Zoanthid for long periods of time...

to:

A Zoanthid Irritater is something that can irritate a Zoanthid for long periods of time...

and amended:

It should be noted that not all Irritaters effect all Zoanthids! Some seem immune while others fall victim...

myself, i've been on the 'unlucky side' when battling these guys 5 or 6 times. each time, my zoanthids lost - as the pics show. (different tanks, different morphs too!)

but the kicker, as has been pointed out, is that these guys are not BAD per say, they can but not necessarily will cause harm if too close to effected zoas. heck, most consider these guys (especially the spaghetti worms) good!

lastly - i'm glad to hear of so many cases of these guys having not effected your zoas!

Yeah I have one surrounded by zoo colonies and after watching it for a long time I'm not worried at all. They do sometimes cause a few zoos to close but nothing that would harm the zoos.

Yessss ! They are munching my zoas ! Some of my zoas eere irritated by this worms ! Am gona buy melanorus rass! They eat spagueti worm!

I don't see both types of worm as irritators.
I would say that depending on their size and type they could bother some polyps, but normally it's not a big deal and it's temporary.
The zoanthids could close for a while but will normally open fully soon.
I wouldn't remove them from the system, unless their numbers are huge and therefore they would become a nuisance.
I've never had any problems with them at all...
