Anyone ever been to Splash Lagoon in Erie, PA? It's an indoor water park/hotel. I'm thinking of taking the kids there over Spring Break for a few days in April.

Jamie,

Check out the link splashlagoon.com

We're definately going with another family for 3 days I just wanted to know if anyone else has been there and what they thought.

I've been to Splash Lagoon 3 times. We go every year in March (going on the 26th). I highly recommend the place if you've never been.

My boys are currently 6 and 3 and LOVE the place, but they are both water rats. For older kids that might get bored with all the water fun, it does have an arcade and lazer tag (both for extra $$). Last year they added 2-3 new slides (don't remember).

It's a great time. Not sure I would want to go for 3 full days. We usually go with a hotel package. That gives us the evening on the first day, all day the next day and then we go home in the AM on the 3rd day (so it's 2 nights). Being in Buffalo the drive is only about 1.5 hours.

Thanks Chris,

There will be 4 adults, 2 boys (13 1/2), 2 girls (12 and 15) staying in 2 rooms. All the kids love the water. As long as there's a bar, I'm happy. We're planning on checking in on Sunday and coming home Tuesday (2 nights). We're also planning on doing the lazer tag.

From Syracuse, I'm guessing 3 1/2 to 4 hours to drive there.

Are the rooms clean and comfortable? How's the food?

Thanks.

Carrie

We stayed at the Residence Inn which is connected, so we never needed to go outside in the cold. The rooms are suites and are awesome. I travel a lot for work so I know hotels, and the Residence Inn is VERY nice. It has a free breakfast buffet.

For food, we would get something from Applebees one night (pickup and bring to hotel) . For lunch we would eat at Splash Lagoon. That food was good, not great. For Dinner that day we would go to one of the local resturants. Quaker Steak and Lube is good as are the others (cant remember the names).

Is the Residence Inn the only one connected? How's the breakfast buffet? The kids are huge breakfast eaters, especially the boys, so I was thinking about getting a suite with a full kitchen to bring my griddle.

Post pictures when you get back.

Carrie

Chris,
I've been on that site checking things out. Just wasn't sure what hotels were attached and which ones had shuttles.

I'm getting pretty excited about it. Would love to see the pictures.

Been there with my family - everyone had a great time! I would highly recommend the place to anyone with kids.

:wavehand:

Carrie- don't just sit at the bar. You gotta get wet. Make sure to ride ALL of the big water slides- especially that one that spits you out in big bowl of circling water. (I can't remember it's name!)
You're going to love Splash Lagoon- it's a freakin' blast.

lol, yeah..
or if you Really want to get rid of everyone else & get your own private theme park...
Six yager bombs + Three Big Bowl of Circling Water Rides = Tossing Your Cookies in the water.

I'm sure you'll have the place to yourself in No Time!

My wife and I called it the toilet bowl. :D

We would take turns watching the kids, allowing the other to sneak away and ride the "big kids" slides.

Last year was cool because my son is almost tall enough for the bigger slides at 5 years old so he was able to go on them later at night when the crowds died down and the workers were not working as hard.

Gary, I won't sit at the bar ALL the time! LOL I don't know what that ride is called either, the kids call it the toilet bowl. I actually love to do all that stuff so I'll be right in there with the kids and playing lazer tag too. I want the bar to self-medicate when I hurt myself!

Tony, I knew about the arcarde but didn't know about the minigolf and gokarts. Maybe we should stay longer than 3 days. We'll see.

Stephany, that's an idea...

I can't believe I didn't know about this before.

Carrie

Chris, we were posting at the same time!

Toilet bowl is the common name, not sure of the scientific name.

I'm Packed!

I'm packed and ready to go to SplashLagoon tomorrow! We leave at 8:00 a.m in the morning for 3 days. Going to spend a day at the Erie, PA, zoo too. Only setback was I have to cram a few extra pounds into my bathing suit! :eek1:

Have to run to the store for some snacks for the room and then just wait...
