Split drain for Dual Filter Sock with Herbie

I tried searching online for an answer but couldn't find anything about this. I have a 150 gallon tank with a single 1" drain with a herbie overflow design with a main and emergency.

The sump has a dual sock holder and I'm wonder if it's okay to use a tee to split the main drain to each sock holder or will it affect the way the herbie works?

Why not use one larger Sock? You don't need to use the second holder just because it is there or either one for that matter.

I split my drain in my new CadLight tank set up. I just wanted to have 2 socks so I wouldn't have to change them every 3 days. So far it's working great. Just be careful to get the 'T' as level as you can or one sock will get more water than the other and therefore get dirty before the other. It took me a couple of adjustments to get it right before I glued it together.

My acrylic sump has two 4" sock holders already glued to it so I prefer to use them instead of going to a bigger sock size.

Ron, I like the idea of not having to change it every 3 days, what kind of overflow do you use? durso, herbie?
