Does this look like he is splitting?

Sure does to me today.

ph 8.1 .026 0/0/0 (measured a few days before and right after the video)

Came home and it looks like he is splitting. No trauma, good neighbors in tank.

Now this is this morning...

<iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JUCf1RXqA7Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Squinched in the sand all the way... He has never doe this before.

Make sure you keep this updated since Macrodactyla doreensis are not know to split as far as I know. I hope you don't have a worm or something that is eating it.

Good luck.

He has been eating about a 1/2 ring(segment) of shrimp every other day. He has been sand bound twice now... He just floated and got in this area yesterday.
In the second video it looks like new growth on it too. Hummm....

The area he is now in though is below a ledge and out of direct light. Up until this am he has been FULL of energy and sticky. Looking for food and no problems eating.

OK... He must have been really mad and wanted to maybe self attach to the bottom glass of the tank. It really burried it self.

This is what it looks like now... STRANGE how it had put the one lip below the surface, the way it did. It must have really been reaching for the bottom.

In hindsight, it probably should have been a clue to us that it was just digging down to the bottom from all the fresh sand that was building up around it. Another little bit of info I can store away for another occasion. :)

Good luck.

Yeah he has done this before a few times. He is trying to find where he wants to sit. It was just strange to see his outer corona so large and bent on that one section. He has always been pretty small... Must have been happy and letting his hair down to see how much room he has in this new area.

Much happier and eating well. When eating shrimp pushes out it's lips/mouth and swallows the shrimp pretty quick. I used my turkey baster today cleaning up around the tank and it is very quick to pull back when the flow hit it. It is in a very low/light flow area and 1/2 covered from rock above from the light.

Here are a few pictures from today:

I have been researching this type to make sure about light/food/flow etc...

It is not corkscrewed though...
