Splitting Florida ricordea

I have ricordea thats in a process of splitting . half of it with the new mouth is hanging over the edge of a rock . should i cut off or just let stay where it at and hope it attach it self after it split.

if it allready has a mouth and is attached to a rock, I say cut it. It will make the process go alot faster
