Splitting RBTA Question

Hello:

I came home today to find that my RBTA split in two or three. I have 1 Maroon clownfish. My question is would the clownfish just host in one and kill off the remaining RBTA? I thought I read that somewhere on this board, but I want to confirm.

Thanks

No, I have a pair of tomato clowns hosting my rbtas. I started with one about four years ago, it split into three. I sold one. After another split I now have 5. The clowns seem to love them all.

Congratulation! Mine split last Friday. My Ocellaris stayed away while it split and then a few hours after split was complete they returned to their home. They don't seem to bother it. I have heard of maroons killing anemones that were too small, they tend to be rough on anemones. I think the question you have is whether they'd kill one or more of the clones on purpose, the answer is no, not intentionally. I'd keep an eye on them and watch for signs of unusual stress. (I mean other than normal stress of splitting) I would seperate them if you think the fish is causing damage. Would like to see pictures : )
