splitting up pair for hyposalinity

if I ever had to run hypo on one of my clowns what would this do to the other one still in the main tank.
Or if one of them died will they pair up with a new clownfish
my clowns are fine, I just like to be informed and couldnt find anything through search

If one gets sick, everything in the tank has to be treated for whatever disease they have. If one does happen to die, yes it will pair up with a new fish. It would be best to leave the living clown alone for a month and then get a very small juvenile to pair up with it IME. Unless of course you have maroon clowns or any of the other larger, harder to pair clownfish species.

I won't split my maroons up for anything - if one needed disease treatment, the other would go into the QT as well, and when they traveled during our move they were in a bucket together. Maroons can be very difficult to pair up, and I absolutely will not chance causing a divorce!

When I switched tanks I got my female clown out first, but then I couldnt catch the male so he had to stay in the old tank overnight. He was miserable he wouldnt eat, and he just hid. I wasnt sure if he was going to make it through the night, I've never seen a fish get like that. The next day I finally caught him, and put him in the new tank. The female beat the stuffings out of him for about the first 30 seconds then they went back to normal like nothing ever happened.

If I had to do it again. I would not have let them stay apart. It really stressed the male out!!
