Spotted cheek tang

Anyone know of any online sites that sell Spotted cheek tangs (Acanthurus maculiceps)? I checked on la and bza and they don't have them.

I see these tangs on Diver's Den (Live Aquaria) almost monthly it seems like... there isnt one there now but they show up quite a bit.

I'm not sure, but maybe they will show up in the DD once in awhile? Anyone ever see one there? :lol2:

Yea, that is the fish I am talking about. Its very eye catching. I will keep an eye out for DD and see how much they go for. Thanks.

It seems ny has it but its too big. Close to a foot. I was looking for a juvi size. I'll keep an eye out on la and dd.

They usually go for $149 and up depending on size. They don't come up all that often. I've only seen RHS have them once in the last year. DD is your best bet.

that is a beautiful fish. Do they get darker with age?

Here is mine swimming with a couple of pyramid butterflys. He only gets the dark color when he is stressed or mad. When I have a bunch of people over looking at the tank he gets darker also. Got mine off of DD

These guys are getting pretty common now. Bluezooaquatics usually gets them in. The Mauliceps is one of my favorites as well as the Dussumeri tangs. I am fortunate to be in SF bay area where it is easy to find for about $70.
