spotted jawfish compatability with gobys

Hello, I am fairly new to the hobby. I started my 29 gal reef tank in January and added a mated pair of yellow watchmen gobys, I also have 2 clowns, tang, and neon dottyback. I am now wanting to add blue spotted jawfish. I have read mixed reviews on jawfish compatability with gobbys/ dottyback. My gobby get along fine with the dottyback. Has anyone had these two or 3 species together and what was the outcome?
 
I don't like gobies, it is either them or me. On the serious side I have not had luck keeping the two, setup a tank for Jawfish. They require different substrate also.
 
Tang?
You cannot keep any kind of tang in that small a tank. Also, the tank is fully stocked even without the tang.
Remove the tang immediately and return it to your LFS. Also, chew them out for letting you buy one for a tank that small.
 
I have a really small blue tang about 1 1/2inch. I was told that they take a while to grow and that I will have to upgrade eventually which is what i plan to do anyway . I plan to get rid of the neon dottyback too, my bf bought it one day and it does fine in the tank but every once in a while ill see it pecking at my snails and blue leg crabs.
 
1 1/2" is too big a tang for a 30g, and they grow rather fast. If yours is growing slowly, then something is wrong. Return the tang or upgrade immediately.
 
So aside from the tang since this thread is about something else, the jaw fish would likely not go over very well with the other tank mates. Another thing to consider is if your substrate is correct for them to be able to burrow and that there is plenty of small rubble for them to disguise there cave with.

Blue tangs are actually one of the FASTEST growing tangs.They get between 10-12 inches,if not more on rare occasions.They need a tank 6-8
Feet minimum.

Get rid of the poor fish,always buy fish for the tank you HAVE,90 percent of planned tanks never happen.

Get rid of the tang and neon dottyback.
 
If it is a standard 29g, compatibility wise the jawfish and the watchmans will coexist. If it is a 29g biocube, ther may or may not be enough space for them to coexist peacefully, depending on how much available sand space there is.

Compatibility with the dottyback shouldnt be an issue as the dottyback isa aggressive towards invaders to its territory in the rock work and the jawfish will build its burrow in the sand.

Something important to be aware of with blue spot jaws is that they do better in temps cooler than most keep their tanks, 68-72°. Other species of jawfish are better suited such as pearly, tiger, and dusky.

This. The dottyback will probably not interact with the jawfish however.
 
Thanks to all that stuck with the subject in question. That helps me out a lot.
As for Betta132 my tang has been doing just fine in my tank for the last 4 months, like i said before i will upgrade when necessary.
 
It is necessary now, or very soon at least. Unless you can upgrade to a tank that is a minimum of 6-8 feet long, and do it very soon, get rid of the tang.
