OK i read that another reefer spray painted his clear acrylic overflow with Krylon Fusion. He said he hasnt had any problems as of yet...what do you guys think? I would like to do this if there wont be any problems as my false wall is semi-transparent for my desk nano...

thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Have been in the paint industry for 14 years I would say there is no way I would submerge any acrylic coating in salt water. Long term it won't hold up and will break down in your tank's water.

THanks for the reply!
the paint i was told was Krylon Fusion...that is toxic right? I would like to warn the guy if youa re sure. I wont be doing it either.

Appreciate the info

Having been in paint industry for 0 years, can you explain the difference between acrylic based paints and say...the acrylic in an aquarium? Cause I sure hope my tank doesn't break down over time. :D

I have seen a ton of people here on RC who have used krylon fusion and I have yet see any threads on how it has created any problems. They say that it fuses (hence fusion) with plastics and becomes inert.

OK i did a google, the only thing i can see regarding safety is that it is ok to use on toys that little kids play with, i.e. EAT (as little kids so often do). anyone else have anyother info regarding this? I am loathe to poison my tank, but if it will be ok I will cover the eyesor of the false wall.
