Spraybar for 24G Aquapod?

Ok it is time for me to learn something new today. What is a spray bar and it's purpose and is it good or necessary for a 24 gal. Aquapod. I am using just what came with mine. I have my water flow where the water is comming just below the surface. It is pointed diagonally across the tank. I have had less scum floating on top by doing this. When I had it pointed down into the tank my scum increased. One of my LFS said that is why I probably will not need a skimmer as long as I do not over populate my tank with fish. As of right now I have only two fish along with crabs, two shrimp and snails.

I don't know about the "long connection of loc-line parts". All the spraybars I've seen (and used in my FW tank) were basically a piece of plastic pipe (pvc works great) with a series of relatively small holes drilled in it along the length of the pipe.

With a spraybar, instead of having your water come out at a single point, it's distributed along the length of the pipe.

I put a spraybar on my 24, it's an L-PVC fitting coming out of a bulkhead connected to a piece of 1/2" pvc going down and teeing off to two lengths going in opposite directions along the bottom of the tank behind the rockwork. I have several holes drilled in it which spray the water up behind the rocks and straight into the rock. This aids in the circulation of water behind your rocks which typically is dead space with little circulation. So far mine has worked beautifully. Oh, and I have a 900 ph hooked up to it.
