Wow very nice. I like the way your fish room is set up. Do you have a build thread? I'd defiantly like to learn more about the system.
This sysyem has been up from june of last year.but many of the corals are from my previous reef located at the old marital residence. That tank was grown out for 5 years. In that 5 years ,ive had my share of issues with rtn stn etc and have learned a great deal. The tank is really run quite simply. I even disconnected the 500mg ozone cause that plus carbon was really causing hlle in lot of my tangs. Once the gem tangs fins started to dissapear, i decided enough! And i noticed that i bleached out less coral also. So yes the orp is lower now and its not quite as clear, everything is better now. I still use the dual skimmers. You be shocked how many times one skimmers foam head is down for some reason, but the other one is going. I onlu use about 5 cupsof rox carbon now also and i believe itbshould be run sort of passive. Not tumbled in a reactor. All the fish seem better now along with lots of nori and vitamins. I use many filter socks and we change them every 3 days. We clean our skimmer necks 2to 3 x a day.and recently ibtook out my gfo and tank is supported by vodka vinegar at 75per 25 per respectively and a giant cheto ball in one of the 80 gallon refuges im equipment room. I blast that with400 w halide lighting and it grows great.as for the lighting, t5s ,vho actinics and 455s and .....11 400w halides 2 in each reflector plus one in between each reflector. Combos of radiums on pfo hqi and reeflux 12s on lumateks. I add lots of additives. I use korallen zucht products for color phols x , bbalance,and once a week k balnance ,and coral snow. I add trace elements
2x week but split one dose and also add a mid dose of potassium iodine mid week. Calcium and alk is a combo of...2 calcium reactors, lime water on a liter meter , and 3 small doses of esv biionic 2part 75mls each. Water changes are done weekly. 15per at a time which tends to be 200 gallons. Very easy and a few valve turns on my system just from holding vats to sump plumbing i use rowa dd salt. I like very much

Thanks for the info. The two skimmers makes sense, neat that one takes over if one drops out. You said that carbon dosing was causing hlle on your tangs, but you are dosing vodka and vinegar? Is the dose at 75 & 25 mil @ gal. @ day? What is your tank made of, and where is it located in your home?
Sounds like a lot of supervision/work, do you have help? are you retired? Sorry for being so nosy, just trying to get a feel for what it takes to run a tank this size. Thank you for the input as your tank is beautiful.---Rick

Rick. The carbon and ozone was causing hlle. Not vinegar vodka. Vodka dose is around 12ml per day and 30ml of vinegar spead out 3 x per day. The other dose you were referring to was biionic 2part set upbautomated on mtc dosing at 75ml 3x per day but thatvjust supplements calcium reactors and lime water. Yes i have help. Full time couple the man is my driver and i have trained him and is very dedicated to the tank. Hes the one on the ladders cleaning the skimmers all day. Definitely need help here he does most of the labor and feedings and bag changes etc this tank is in my walk oout basement next to movie theater room and my gym so everyone goes down
In the maintenence description i left out that we also dose amino acids 2 to 3x per week. We are using red seas a and b stuff now. 30ml of each. We also feed the corals at night severa times per week. Combo of reef roids and esv freeze dried phyto and oyster feast and phyto feast. Sometimes we use korallen zucht coral vitalizer mixed in with the coral snow also.
