Hey rick. Got home late last night. Worked on tank all day. Waterchange. Carbon reactor change new coral yalcin got while i was away i placed in main display and i hatched some baby brine for the pepermint and narcosis. Ill try to tke some pics and video next day or so. All is good. I mounted 3 radion pros in between my metal halid reflectors ie block some t 5 inorder to increase light in very fro nt of tank and sand. Ive lossed some clams on the sand and have some shading issues from large stags. So i wanted to light it more. So funny. Was really impressive light last night but today with all the halides on i couldnt even tell the leds were even on.

Did you say you were going to put some bio pellets on line? Like I said, I use vinegar. I'll have to ck my NO3 tomorrow, I haven't cked it in a long time. The vinegar helps keep my algae in check, but then again I have a 1000gals with nothing in it lol. It must help with PO4 also. When I get everything put back together, I'm going to keep some serious records,so as I increase livestock, feeding, water changes, vinegar, pellets, uv, ect.ect. I want to have a better understanding on what effects/alters my system.
Yes. Planned on it. Butvnow that vodka vinegar is working again i will keep going and see what happens. I guess im pushing more than 1500 gallons in thevsystem nd i understand i can get to .1 ppm of vodka or150ml of vodka euiv to max out. Im at 105 now. Still have some ammo and its dropping again.
I see. On mine I'm dosing 500ml @ day. math wise I think thats equal to approx. 63ml of vodka. As you suggested a while back, I dose the vinegar into my first barrel giving some mixing time so its thinned out some when it gets to the rock barrels (3 and 4). the water enters the barrels at the top but is directed to the bottom with a pipe which creates an up flow through the rock. I get a whitish growth on the rock that I assume is the bacteria. The bacteria also shows up on some rock in my DT. Sometime I reduce my dosage to help with the bacteria covering the rock. I'm wondering if I had coral in my tank would the bacteria tend to cover all the coral also???... or once I get everything dialed in, will the bacteria just stay in the rock barrels?---Rick

Thanks Andrew,...After I asked the question,... I thought maybe your lighting alone would heat your tank. Last year my pumps(2 return, and skimmer) keep my tank warm also. I had to replace one pump I think a bearing was going out. I know the pump room is a lot quieter.I was looking at some diy threads on heating larger tanks, but I didn't see any that appealed to me. The guys all needed to add multiple safety shutoffs. I think I'll go with the old stand by,...tube heaters. I'll use multiple heaters, so if one sticks on, it wont fry the tank.---Rick
Thx lawrence. Secound pep comes wed. And another narcosis coming also. I bumped into koji at house of fins. I couldnt believe the pep deaths. He lost 3 of 9. Ted and nya lost theirs. I count like 5 out of 14 ish deadsville. Not great. Koji tolad me they are keeping them at closer to 73 not the 76 they were supposedly found in. For the moment i was keeping mine at 75.5 to 76. But i turned dn the chiller 1 degree today to 74 74 .5. I cant tell for sure bu fish seemed more active after that. Today i picked up some rare butterflys and a unnamed wrasse from house of fins. Wrought irons ,tinkers , etc. for my 180 system
