SPS abnormal tissue

Has anyone experienced the type of growth shown in the pic (center coral)? The tissue is no longer smooth and looks as if it is covered in very small blisters. You may have to zoom in to see clearly. I have had several pieces stn from the base but also have die off in the middle of the coral as if something stung it. They usually get like the pic shows just before die off begins.

Parameters are

Ca 450
Alk 7.5
Nitrate 5
Phosphates .02
Mag 1410
Potassium 325
ph 7.8-8.2

Parameters are fairly stable. I did have an alk issue were it shot up to 9.25 while making adjustments to the calcium reactor. It increased over a few days and brought it back down over the course of a week.

Here is another sample that has begun to rtn from the base. Same abnormal tissue.

Are you dosing magnesium? Double check with another test kit that mg is actually within parameters.

Several large water changes should help with getting either parameters or out of whack elements back in line.

I had the bubbly/blistery growth before due to high mg (and possibly some other impurity) and water changes fixed it.

Mag was at 1350 and an lfs recommended I get it up to 1500. Did not see an improvement once it reached 1500.

Tested with Red Sea and gave 1500. Salifert gave a reading of 1410.

Doing daily 10 gallon water changes until I see an improvement. Would like to do a higher volume water change but all I have on hand is Instant Ocean and don't want to increase Alk too much. Corals looked stress with Alk above 8.5

bump.

I have lately noticed the die off begins with no polyp extension. Some coral look extremely healthy with good color but no polyp extension. A very small bit of algae around the openings. No burnt tips.

Anyone have any clues as to what is going on with my tank?
