aside from the monster sweepers chalice corals can put off what do the sps experts think about a sps and chalice tank? i was thinking of doing this in a forty gallon.

As long as the SPS do not get nailed by sweepers youââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢re ok. The right flow can be tricky as well. I have been running a tank that started out as a SPS tank and now has a few Chalice, Acans, Micromussa, and a Brain. I run carbon 24/7 so far everything looks good. Planning placement is key.

thanx guys. i am thinking along the same lines....placement is key. i am going to have a low level rock structure with lots of flat spots for chalice along with a couple of column like areas for the sps...going bare bottom as well. thanx again for the input.

half and half?

yeah i was going to do the sps up high with the chalice on the bottom. going bare bottom with a zoanthid carpet to hide the glass.
