Sps and other corals

I have been keeping a mixed reef for about a year and have recently started catering to my sps ,frequent water changes and keeping my nitrates low ,I have noticed that although my sps are doing great other corals like acans and scolymia seem to be suffering.whats up?can they be happy with the same environment? I'm starting a sps build soon and wondering what else I should be putting in my new tank

An SPS system is generally low in nutrients and LPS tend to do better in a higher nutrient system. There could also be some chemical warfare going on in the tank.

Are you using any activated carbon?

Have you changed the flow or lighting? I think that LPS like less flow and may get hit if you crank up the lighting suddenly. If it's just the water change regime change then perhaps they're just taking time to readjust.
