SPS choices for very high flow

I'm looking for some SPS choices to place within a foot of an MP60 running on reef crest mode. Right now there is a Montipora Digitata there that can't handle the flow. I'm going to move it away, but I'm looking for some choice SPS to replace it with.

My Purple Monster is 6 inches from my MP40s, Mille is 3 inches, 30k lokani is 3 inches, microcladus 3 inches, jedi mind tricks 4 inches, blueberry miyagi tort 3 4 inches. Running reefcrest mode also. Interesting with the digi since Reefcrest hardly ever hits 100%. Are you sure its the flow that the digi isnt liking? I know alot of people that keep Acros and montis of all varieties, with the exception of digis. They cant seem to keep them. Maybe its just a digi issue. Cant speak though for my tank since I dont currently have any digi in the tank.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll check those out. That Digi is actually one of my best growers. It is about 5 inches across in that main colony. The side away from the flow is doing pretty well. I'm seeing quite a bit of growth.

^^^^^^^ agreed... careful with those mp60s... too much direct flow will harm your sps... jmho

Tagging along. I 'only' have an MP10, but so far the pink milli I put 8" away doesn't seem to like it one bit. All the corallites on the 'downstream' side are bleached-looking. Upstream side looks fine, ironically.

I have sps within a couple inches of both my mp10, and mp40. I don't know about mp60s but the highest flow loving sps I've found are tables likes cytherea, hyacinthus, ect..

I'm thinking something that has the least polyp extension, and mostly smooth skin. Staying away from millies and going toward Granulosa?

I dunno, when I was asking about this a year ago, the #1 answer was millis, which is why I went that way.

Maybe the one I got is just a dud. :)

Ya my millis LOOOOOOOVE flow the more flow you put at them the more pe you get, but I still wouldn't shove them directly infront of a mp60.

Smooth corals deep water they seem to do better for me in medium flow stuff..

High flow look for very tight nit and/or platting colonies. Things that look like they will require high flow to be able to penetrate all the way into the center of the colony so it doesn't die out.

Something like this is a perfect example

As mammoth eluded to, growth pattern will tell you alot about the preferred flow conditions. Go with a species/specimen that has thick, clumped branches and/or the growth pattern mammoth suggested
