I'm looking to see if there are other users of Acan light fixtures. I have a newer 600, 24" model on a 29 gallon tank. Blues are at 68% and whites are at 67% from 9:45am-6:00pm with a ramp up and down preceding and following those times. Lights are about 8-9 inches off the water. I know that I shouldn't be so concerned about this since I am moving tanks; however, I don't want this issue to go unresolved and only to see the same problem in my 125g.
I can't seem to dial in these lights so that all my corals are happy. I've been slowly adjusting my lights to see if I can get some more color without success. Growth is fine. I'm also aware that it might not be a light issue as well. My Lps and monti's all seem fine and have good color but some of my acros are pale. ORA Joe, ORA Borealis, A&M Turquoise Stag, Limeade and Bottle Brush have been in the tank for about 4 months and have varying degrees of color but nothing I would consider good. All had spectacular colors when introduced to the tank and then faded over a couple of weeks. A few of them seem to be getting a tiny bit of color back but it is almost unnoticeable.
Ph: 8.2 API
KH: 8.5 Salifert
CA: 450 Salifert
MAG: 1400 Salifert
Salinity: 35 Refractometer
Temp: 79
Nitrate: 0 API
P04: .03 .04 Red Sea
I dose kalk through ato and occasionally use Red Sea Coral Energy. I currently only have 1 fish, clownfish, and feed pellets daily and mysis occasionally. I run gfo (only 3tbs) and carbon in a phosban 150. The rock I used for my tank was full of PO4 so the gfo is necessary to keep it in check. I also do weekly water changes with Salinity salt. I don't have any algae and only have to clean the glass weekly. Here are a few pics.
Borealis
Joe
Turquoise - sorry for the poor picture quality
Bottle Brush
Deep water? Poor picture again.
Limeade
