SPS Coral Blowout

It sounds like the bidding will be too expensive for some... (hint, hint, hint)
but, I'll be there... ;)
I'll be getting in line for the calcium reactor if you decide to let it go. I would love to see the whole set up before anything is broken down. Your tank is breathtaking...

How big are these colonies? Should I bring 5 gallon buckets? What do you suggest? Sounds like your gonna need a ton of saltwater to replace all you sell with the colonies. I can't wait!

My frags are doing excellant, I wish there was some way I would be able to be there for this. I'm sure people will be mauling each other to get there hands on some of this stuff.

RayRay - Thanks so much!

Stoney Mahony - they range from ones that are 2 ft across to small frags. If you plan on buying any of the larger ones I would recommend at least 1 5 gallon bucket per.

coralfarmer84 - Glad to hear they are doing good Ryan.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks!
Jon

I'll be there a little late. Probably about 20 minutes late. If you can wait, cool, if not, maybe start with the green and smaller corals first :). I'm leaving leesburg now. If you need to get ahold of me, my number is 3526363790.

Thanks Jon.

Pretty nice event. You guys should of really went whoever missed it. Nice pieces at some very good prices.

I ended up buying,

26. Acropora sp. â€"œ ORA “Chips” - Big piece!
32. Acropora austere - classic Myagi Tort coloration with the large funnel shaped corallites - Another huge piece.
40. Acropora batunai â€"œ ORA Purple Pillow Top - This piece is very large. Cost me the most but couldn't beat the price.
50. Acropora turaki â€"œ Blue/Teal
51. Acropora tortusa - Oregon Blue Tort (Purchased directly from Upscales)

Thanks for having us over Jon. Everything looked nice and hopefully you can make the tank look just as nice without the sps.

I also would like to thank John and family for having us over, and showing eveybody a most excellent time. He is a great host and a true reef hobbyist! I came home with some real nice stuff. and I have to admit I felt kinda bad after everything was gone out of the tank. But I know you will have softie tank soon that is just as beautiful as the sps tank was.

It was also cool meeting alot of you Orlando folks as well. really nice people and I had a great time. I agre with Jason... the people that didn't go today really missed out!

Jason- I'll be waiting on that pillow top frag ;) LMK when you are ready to trade a frag :)

Matt

Thanks Guys! It was sad to see it all go but I was happy to know the corals were going to good homes. Here is a picture of the aftermath:

I must say that both pictures before and after do NO justice to the tank. You need a new camera :). The corals were very nice. The actual tank is a nice 20K blue and was very colorful.

It went for around 70 to 80 dollars. The thing was gigantic. The HUGE tyree piece went for 105.

Whoever missed it really missed out on some sweet pieces.

WOW, only 70-80$ for that huge piece of the orange montipora capricornis? I would of paid triple that.... >_< I wanted to go to this auction so bad, but had to work...
