SPS Dominated 47G Reef

Glad I found your thread.. Since You stopped by my picture thread, today I was reading thru it and looked for yours lol.. Seems you need to update your photo bucket account because can't see your pics..it says your a popular person =)..

Very informative read man and I'm glad I found it.. I have been actually trying some bacteria sources lately also.. Mb7 and Dr tims something or other.. Haven't noticed anything yet but I am beginning to have more sponge growth in my sump but that's probably more to do with the age vs the bottles.

Thanks for looking into my thread. I've had a setback recently due to yet another Alk drop. This time a few corals browned out for sure. However I was dosing KZ Coral vitaliser, so I am not entirely sure which caused the brownout.

Prior to the brownout, my corals were starting to really pop with colour. So the bacteria was definitely helping. I started to dose KZ CV thinking it might help since I was dosing the bacteria...But either my failure to keep an eye on the Alk or the dosing of the KZ CV caused the loss of the colours I was enjoying.

I am going to start carrying out small water changes each week, carry on with the bacteria dosing and just feed the fish.

sahin- sorry to hear of your health issues. you are one of the most supportive and kind individuals on this forum. that alone tells me that you are an awesome person and I am hoping for the best for you.

+1000
Well said dowtish..... you have my prayers Sahin :)

Thanks guys. If it werent for this hobby, I would probably be feeling quite depressed lately, but the hobby has been a nice outlet for me. In the evenings I can sit in front of the tank and relax. The hum of the pumps, the trickle sound of the water going into the overflow, the corals and fish...I find it all relaxing and glad I still have the tank. :)

That's what it's all about! The little mishaps and setbacks make it all that more interesting IMO.

Just wanted to add that I'm not a blue bottle fan. I hate that the ingredients are all proprietary, they're expensive, and half of them smell like vinegar :) :deadhorse:

These photos were taken by my buddies on their phones. Finally here are FTS shots of my tank. No way as nice as some of the beautiful creations I admire and follow on this forum, however, despite a few setbacks, the tank is doing well and I am happy with it. Hopefully I will feel better over the coming months and will be able to maintain parameters better and hope that the colours will improve. :)

When I feel better and the colours have improved I will take some shots with my Nikon and Macro lens.

Lol Richard :)

Sahin, I'm happy to hear that you're reef-happy and enjoying the hobby :). FWIW, in my limited experience, I'd blame the alk drop, anyday :).

EDIT:
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks awesome Sahin, Really love the scape!!! There's some really cool pieces there as well, you sneaky bugger :p

Bout time! If that is your browned out tank then please, let me know what you did to get it browned out! Sweet tank Sahin

Time for celebration because we have finally seen Sahin's tank :celeb1:. It looks fabulous. You should be proud. Can you provide a full list of your your acroporids and your most recent water parameters please?

I must say that the ATI's control unit looks as impressive as the unit itself.

Keep up the good work :wavehand:.

Been following a while mate, I've gotta give you all the best from lil old NZ. I also notice there's now full tank shots! Good stuff mate, I have aquascape envy for sure, wish I'd used branches like that. Terrific! Placement of corals is also a work of art.

Ha Ha! Finally! Looks really good. Your coral colors are great man!
