SPS dominated tank in Waikiki INTENSE PICS!!! BEWARE

I am going to Waikiki in July and cant wait to see this in person! :D

Ill be sure to take MANY pictures.

Here's a vid I found on youtube:

Are the corals in this tank native to Hawaii? I was under the impression that there wasn't many native acro species there?

Thank you for those pics, I have been wondering how my sps would do if I moves them to our greenhouse and that made up my mind. Those gigas were looked huge.

Thanx again!!

It makes me want to clam-lift.

The first few pictures had me really excited as I thought this was a private individual's tank. My heart sank when I realized this was a public aquarium.

Don't get me wrong. It is an amazing what they have there, but reef tanks are a no-no in HI and we are planning to move there. I am heartbroken I can't keep a reeftank there. The diving is amazing but the native corals just don't get me excited enough.

That Yellow Tang is HUGE!

I was there last June. I really liked the big lagoon opposite the SPS tank as well. Lots of huge tangs, triggers and butterflies.

I enjoy this one as well as the Maui Ocean Center.

The one on Maui is almost all endemic Hawaii critters. Waikiki has stuff from all over...
