hi rc i was wondering are there any sps corals i can get that can withstand the low lighting of a 14 gallon biocube with original light (compact top not hqi) and if there arnt any plz suggest some modifications i can make (the cheaper the better) so that i can have sps corals thx!

Look on the nano forum, many guys chat about mods that work well, most going led route, which is likely better for a small reef.

Your best chances would be with some of the Montipora species such as Montipora capricornis (Monti 'Caps'). These will fan out to capture as much light as possible. 'Sunset Monti' is quite light adaptable, but the bright orange body color probably won't develop, but will retain the green polyps. M. setosa can do okay in lower light, but growth will be slow (which is okay in a small nano).

I had lots of SPS in my Biocube, but the thing is with using only PC bulbs your going to have brown corals. If they survive. They can live and grow but dont expect any color.
