Looks like it maybe RTNing. (bottom left) One thing I would suggest is to move it away from the direct flow of that power head. Direct flow will rip the flesh right of the coral. Can you post your tanks matrix ie. water parameters, flow, lighting etc.

Also, I would probably start thinking about fragging, so the RTN will not spread.

hmm. It was like that when I got it from a fellow reefer.

water parameters

10 NO3
Ca 500
Alk 7.5
pH 8.2
temp 80

It is receiving indirect random flow from koralia 2 and 3, definitely not direct flow.

Don't be mislead by that koralia there, it is not going directly at the frag. If it is really RTN, the bleach area will spread fast right ? So if it does not increase in area over the next two days, it is probably not RTN ?

If it was like that when you got it, then has the white area at the bottom of the piece gotten any bigger. Looks like it was either STN(slow vs. rapid necrosis) or was not getting enough light in that area before fragging it, just my opinion. How long have you had the frag? I would keep a close eye on it, if it continues to slowly get more white spots, I would frag the good parts and put them in different areas of your tank. Good luck, I hope it is OK and starts to regrow in some of the areas for you. What are all your water parameters and how about lighting on your tank?

no RTN.
The bleached areas I suspect are areas which were shaded in the previous tank it which it lived.
I wouldn't worry about it.
The less you mess with it, the sooner it can start growing.

The frag is only 2 days old. It is currently under 4xATI T5 with individual reflectors, only 6" away from the lights.

From those parameters, I would say(again this is just what I would do, and not written in stone) at the very least the Nitrates need to come down, I'd say for now shoot for under 5ppm(It can be hard for most to keep truly 0 nitrate, IMO). I run my tank between 75-79, rarely does it go over that, many people keep their temps higher than mine without any problems. I would also bump my Alk up a little, I maintain mine at 8-9DKH, some do higher and some float right on the edge with natural seawater values that average around 7-8DKH. Calcium is a little high but not a problem. Are you dosing anything like two-part, kalkwasser, or Ca reator? Are you testing any other parameters, like PO4(Phosphate), Mg(Magnesium)? These can play a big part when venturing into the SPS realm. If you start to notice damage on the tips, I'd say move it down a little and let it acclimate to your lighting for a couple of weeks, then slowly move it up to a final position over a couple of weeks. I'm sure there will be more or different advice, just where or how I would do things. Good luck. What size tank are you running?
Matt

90 gal. Mag is at 1300, I don't check phospates but I have a phospate remover. I does kalk and grotech carbonate pro. The alkalinity cannot really exceed 8.

Well then I guess try to bring those nitrates down, some things may be able to tolerate it, but most likely things may tend to brown out on you if nitrate levels are too high. Like said before, the frag looks OK now, just keep a close eye on it for additional tissue loss. If your Alk is steady at that level than by all means keep it there, you are within the NSW ranges(I just run it slightly above as a buffer I suppose) Good luck with it, I hope it turns around for the better.

Was the frag mounted to a frag plug or did you stick it to your rock work with epoxy directly applied to the frag?

You said it was that way when you got it? Perhaps it got stung by another inhabitant in the previous owners tank.

I stick it directly using epoxy and superglue gel.
